When we structure, organize, design, and create content for people, what good does it do? Torrey Podmajersky, author of Strategic Writing for UX and the upcoming UX Skills for Business Strategy has dedicated the last couple of years to answering that question.
In this talk, Torrey will introduce you to her new book, a unique “wine-pairing guide” for choosing and articulating the impact that you can make for your business, based on your skills.
She’ll explain six categories of business impacts (financial, user, and more) and the intersections of those impacts with 100 different UX skills.
You’ll leave with a working model of how to prioritize not only what you do but also what evidence you need to gather so that you can highlight your contribution to business outcomes.

Torrey Podmajersky helps solve business and customer problems using UX content. She has written inclusive consumer and professional experiences since 2010 for Xbox, Microsoft, OfferUp, Google, and clients of her agency, Catbird Content.
Torrey's best-selling book, Strategic Writing for UX, was published in 2019. Torrey also creates curriculum and teaches in schools and conferences worldwide.
Torrey uses her broad experiences to help her empathize with a broad range of people. She has a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction; has written fiction, marketing, and tech docs; worked in home healthcare, retail, and hotels; and taught high-school science.
