Bill Kurland has built, grown, and led design teams of all shapes and sizes at organizations ranging from unicorn startups to Fortune 100 corporations. In this talk, he’ll share how he’s succeeded (and failed) to build trust at every level of an organization. From inspiring individual contributors to making leadership folks shine, he’ll share what he’s learned about what works and what doesn’t, with practical tips and examples you can use right away.

Bill Kurland

Bill Kurland (he/they) is a misfit. A former musician, he has spent the last 15 years working at the intersection of brand strategy and experience design. He has built, grown, and led high-performing teams through transformation at organizations of all sizes — from unicorn startups to Fortune 15 corporations. Currently, he's a global experience design director, leading a cross-disciplinary design foundations group consisting of accessibility, design systems, design technology, and UX writing teams.
